3 Tips For Keeping Your Devices Clean

While we all know that certain things or places get dirty or are considered to be unclean, arguably one of the most unclean things that you interact with daily are the devices that you hold in your hands and bring up to your face. Whether you’re using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, the small devices associated with these items often contain more germs and bacteria than you might like to think about.

Because of this, it’s vital that you take certain steps to keep these devices as clean as you can, especially as we start heading into cold and flu season. To help you do just this, here are three tips for keeping your devices clean.

Sanitize Devices Regularly

One of the best ways you can clean your devices is to sanitize them of all germs found there. According to Remi Rosmarin, a contributor to Business Insider, our phones have been found to have 18 times more bacteria than a public bathroom, which means we should likely be sanitizing these devices a lot more often than we probably do. However, many people don’t know the best way to do this, as it’s very different than the way you sanitize other things, like your hands.

To really sanitize a small device like your phone, you may want to try using UV germicidal lamps. There are some products available that allow you to put your small devices under UV lamps that can help you rid your phone of the germs and bacteria found there.

Use The Right Cleaners

As for doing a basic and surface cleaning of your devices, it’s crucial that you use the right cleaners to help you get the job done.

According to Richard Baguley, a contributor to PCWorld.com, the alcohol found in many cleaners can harm the surface plastics of many devices. Because of this, you want to be sure that you’re not using any abrasive cleaners on any of your devices. Generally, a microfiber cloth with a little water or other cleaner meant specifically for your device will do the trick.

Use The Right Tools

In addition to using the right cleaners, you should also get the right tools to help you in cleaning out all the cracks and crevices of your devices.

Judy Sanhz, a contributor to MakeTechEasier.com, shares that some of the best tools to help you clean all types of devices include toothpicks and compressed air. By using these tools to help you clean not only the cases or coverings for your devices but also the devices themselves, you’ll be able to get small pieces of debris out of any holes in your device.

If you’ve realized that you should be more cognizant of keeping your devices clean, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you do just that.
