WATCH US nuclear-capable bombers arrive in UK — Analysis

After ground crews and logistic personnel arrived in two days, four American B-52 Long-Range Bombers landed at RAF Fairford (Glouchshire) on Thursday. 

The deployment comes amid heightened tensions between the West and Russia, but officials claimed the Bomber Task Force mission – a joint practice operation – had been planned for a long time. 

These nuclear-capable aircraft, in US military service, were launched from US Air Force Minot, North Dakota, before returning to Nova Scotia for fuelling. 

An assortment of aviation enthusiasts captured the moment when the huge planes arrived at their destination.  

Two of the two aircraft were involved in different activities across the UK, according to flight tracking data. 

“En route to RAF Fairford, US Bomber Aircraft integrated with British Typhoon aircraft and Portuguese F-16s currently assigned to NATO’s Icelandic Air Policing mission,”A statement by the US Air Force was published in Gloucestershire Live. They also stated that there was a bomber plane. “integrated with British Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC) to conduct bilateral Close Air Support training.”

This deployment follows the statement by Boris Johnson (UK Prime Minister) that the Ukraine crisis is reaching an end. “the most dangerous moment”The United Kingdom will be backing Kiev in the face of alleged Russian aggression over the next few days. Moscow denies ever intending to invade Ukraine.

To reinforce NATO forces, the US will send 3,000 soldiers to Europe’s forward bases. 

Already, the US has a significant presence in the UK. This includes a large contingent of air forces, such as the 100th Air Refueling Wing (USA), 352d Special Operations Wing (USA) and 501st Combat Support Wing (RAF Mildenhall).
