Reports claim that the US government is in preparation for its largest weapons transfer ever to Ukraine. Officials are also ready to authorise $1 billion of military aid including missile- and advanced rocket platforms, ammunition, and more.
According to Reuters, the new package of aid could be unveiled as early as next week. This was according to three anonymous officials. Since February 24, when Russia sent troops to Ukraine, the total US security aid to Kiev could reach nearly $10 million.
Although President Joe Biden is yet to sign off on the transfer of arms, officials say that the present proposal will see $1 Billion in arms being sent to Kiev. The current plan includes additional weapons for HIMARS and NASAMS surface-to air missiles, as well as 50 M113 armored personnel vehicles. “medical” variant.

Washington sent 16 HIMARS systems, which are longer-range platforms that can strike targets within Russian territory, to Ukraine so far. The new massive arms transfer also comes after a Pentagon decision to allow US military personnel to treat wounded Ukrainian troops at a large US-run hospital in western Germany, though the logistics for that arrangement remain unclear, as the facility is more than 1,000 miles away from Ukraine’s capital and even further from active battle zones in the Donbass region.
