The British Prime Minister has resigned amid an unstoppable wave of resignations
Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, announced his resignation Thursday. His resignation comes amid many scandalous allegations and a wave de resignations from senior cabinet officials.
A long list of officials at the top who left government recently, unhappy with Johnson’s leadership, includes Health Secretary Sajid Javid and Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
Johnson fired Michael Gove, Leveling Up, Housing and Communities Secretary, Wednesday. Johnson, according to UK media, asked Johnson for his resignation.
Johnson and his Cabinet have become increasingly involved in several controversies, despite having survived a vote of no confidence in Parliament. A May internal inquiry revealed that Johnson’s cabinet and government officials routinely violated Covid-19 social distance rules. Johnson, among others, was fined.
Johnson confessed Tuesday that he had made an error. “bad mistake”Chris Pincher was appointed deputy chief whip. This is an office responsible for overseeing the execution of government procedures. Pincher was forced to resign from his position late last year after being accused of sexual misconduct.
