Turkey released the first video of the military operation against Kurdistan Workers’ Party militants, which started on Sunday
On Monday, the Turkish Defense Ministry published footage from its military operation against Kurdish forces north of Iraq. Ankara’s latest offensive against militants it regards as terrorists was launched on Sunday night.
Video shows Turkish fighter planes, attack helicopters and artillery in action. The majority of footage was shot with night vision equipment.
The Turkish campaign, ‘Operation Claw-Lock’, is the latest cross-border action by Turkish forces targeting Kurdish militants in northern Iraq. Ankara considers the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the People’s Protection Units (YPG) terrorist organizations. According to the Turkish military, this operation was centered on Metina and Zap regions.
