The unhinged reaction to US abortion ruling has gone too far — Analysis

US liberals’ response to the Supreme Court striking down Roe v. Wade has gone from outrage to madness and borderline criminality

The left is reacting to Roe v. Wade’s ruling by the US Supreme Court.

It is frustrating to see that there are many misunderstandings and even ignorance regarding the Supreme Court’s decision. Twitter keyboard warriors think that abortion was banned by the Supreme Court. The court also has no authority to ban it. They are not legislators. What the justices did was determine that the previous precedent for Roe was not constitutional, or rather, that the right to abortion is not explicitly granted by the Constitution – which it isn’t (incidentally, our Constitution DOES grant the right to bear arms quite explicitly, yet many on the left want that to be ignored. It’s amazing.

If you believe that abortion should be legalized in your state, please contact your elected representatives. It should be codified at the state level. That’s how ‘We the People’ are meant to govern ourselves in America. For all the cries about ‘attacks on our democracy’, I’m hearing a lot of calls for federal overreach – the very antithesis of democracy.

The Roe v Wade decision is not about abortion. It’s about preserving a republic

It was important for the founders of America to recognize the value of local and state government in a system of laws and regulations. They created the American system to counter federal interference at all levels of government. Because America is an extremely diverse country, this is crucial. The Bible Belt might not have the same needs or desires as the people in New York, California and vice-versa. We live very different lives and don’t share all of the same world views. This is only getting more apparent with the passage of time and increased migration.

We are on the brink of another civil war culturally, and the left’s unhinged reaction to the Supreme Court decision has driven another wedge between us. It is now more critical than ever that we uphold our Constitution and treat our court with respect, or else society will fall into chaos. Yes, it may be hard to hear, but even if you are very unhappy about the court’s ruling, you must accept the outcome.

Personally, I was pro-choice until I witnessed the response by feminists and other protesters at demonstrations across the country, along with the emotional reactions by celebrities and calls to ‘burn it down’ and attack our court’s justices at their homes. These people’s violence, rage and insanity reminded me of the people who did not care one bit about my bodily autonomy after I refused to wear a mask or receive a vaccine. Sorry, angry Karen with the blue hair, but you don’t get to scream ‘my body, my choice’ at me anymore. You lost that argument over a year ago when you didn’t respect myPhysiological autonomy.

MPs want abortion rights inscribed into constitution

I don’t expect much other than absurdity when it comes from Hollywood, so it’s not worth it to get into the insanity coming from celebrities on this topic. We’ve all seen their social media posts. They are not only out of touch with reality, but often don’t even have their high school diplomas, so we really can’t expect them to understand the constitutional bounds of federal authority. However, I expect fellow Americans to be able to understand basic civics and behave rationally. This seems to be a trend.

Not normal or sane to ask for our highest court’s dissolution. Writing articles claiming that killing is “ok!” is not normal, or okay. It is absurd and not normal to throw bloody dolls on the street. Your two children should be dragged to protest along with a sign saying “don’t force this on anyone”This is absolutely insane. Twittering what you mean to “assassinate” a Supreme Court justice is not only mentally unstable behavior, but criminal. Thriving societies don’t behave this way. Living societies are civil and value life. Children are an essential part of healthy, flourishing societies.

Nobody is forcing anyone to have children here, and despite what the righteously fuming Twitter Karens screech, no one is coming for women with a Handmaid’s costume and a warrant to seize all birth control pills. We must face up to the reality of abortion.

US Democrats encourage pro-abortion protests

Abortion is not simply a ‘woman’s right to choose’. More than just that. As with having children, abortion has its consequences. Are millions of women and men forgetting that this is about ending the life of human beings? The truth is that every woman who has an abortion will lose her life. Even the hardest feminists can see it. Even if you see a fetus as less important than the mother, or view a fetus as just a ‘clump of cells’ as some say, it is still indeed a life form. One cell is enough to give life. A bean sprout can be considered a living organism. It would be dangerous if all of us stopped seeing a fetus in the context of life. This would set a dangerous precedent for humanity. The new pro-abortionists I have seen are dipping into these terrifying waters.

The extremist takes, online and off, are not doing women any favors, and they certainly aren’t doing society any good. If the left in this country truly cares about women’s bodily autonomy, as they insist they do, and if they truly care about women’s lives, I suggest starting with the basics. The first step is to know what a women is. Maybe then we can have a conversation.
