Palestinian armed groups start gunfight at a militant’s funeral (VIDEO) — Analysis

Three people died and many others were injured after two rival Palestinian arm groups, Hamas (Palestinian armed group) clashed at Sunday’s funeral in a refugee camp near Lebanon.

Fatah gunmen “shot at the funeral procession”Official Raafat Al-Murra of Hamas stated that the Burj el-Shemali Camp, located outside Tyre’s southern port, was the location.

Al-Murra reports that at least three Hamas militants were killed during the attack and six were left with injuries. Some media outlets in the area put the death count at four.

Films from that scene show panicking victims fleeing for safety with intense gunfire heard in the background.

Large crowds gathered in large numbers to honor Hamas’ member who was killed by an explosion on Friday at the Camp.

Hamas reveals cause of Lebanon refugee camp blast

They claimed that the explosion occurred due to an electrical problem in a warehouse housing oxygen for Covid-19 patient.

Reports in Israeli media, and other sources claimed it was an arms depot.

Both Hamas and Fatah claim to be working for an independent Palestinian State, but they have been fighting since 2007.

After weeks of bloody fighting, Hamas gained control of Gaza while Fatah was still active in West Bank camps and refugee camps.

According to UN statistics, around 192,000 Palestinian refugees live in Lebanon’s 12 refugee camps.

A deal prevents Lebanese forces from operating in those areas, while security is provided inside by Palestinian factions.
