A Marine battalion commander who went viral for criticizing the United States’ chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan was discharged just days before Christmas and is now preparing a ‘media blitz’ in response.
In August Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller’s Facebook video critiquing US military leadership over its treatment of Afghanistan withdrawal in that month went viral. Scheller revealed that he had been discharged from the Marine Corps on Thursday – just a day before Christmas Eve – and stripped of his pension after serving for 17 years.
