Manhunt launched for 3 prison escapees, including perpetrator of university terrorist attack — Analysis

Kenyan authorities offer a reward totaling 60 million shillings, or around $535,000 for information regarding the location of three terrorist suspects that escaped from prison’s maximum security on Monday.

The country’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations published a series of tweets with photos and brief descriptions of the fugitives. 

Mohamed Ali Abikar was one of the suspects in the attack on Garissa University 2015 that left 148 dead and 79 injured.

Musharaf is another. AbdallaHe was suspected of being involved in an eluded plot to attack Parliament buildings. He was then charged with possessing explosives and ammunition as well as firearms.

According to authorities, Joseph Juma Odhiambo was the third suspect arrested as he attempted to enlist for Al-Shabaab’s Al Qaeda-affiliated jihadist organization.

The police warned all three suspects that they are dangerous but did not explain how Odhiambo and Abikar managed to escape.
