French security personnel have stopped a plot to stab people in public spaces during Christmas. Two Islamic State sympathizers were arrested. They hoped to stab holiday shoppers in order to become martyrs.

According to media reports citing sources within the French judiciary, the DGSI arrested two men, both 23, on November 29 in the Île-de-France department.
