Iraqi PM says he knows who’s behind ‘assassination attempt’ — RT World News
Mustafa Al-Kadhimi is the Iraqi Prime Minister. He claims that his government know who perpetrated the attack on his house by drones and will expose them.
“We will pursue those who committed yesterday’s crime. We know them well and we will expose them,”Al-Kadhimi made the statement in a statement from Sunday’s office, as cited Reuters.

Three drones were reportedly used in an attack on al-Kadhimi’s residence in Baghdad’s Green Zone early Sunday morning local time. Iraq’s Security Media Cell claimed the drones were “booby-trapped,” and two of the drones were reportedly downed, while one reached the prime minister’s residence and caused damage, reportedly injuring members of his security details.
Al-Kadhimi did not suffer any injuries in the incident and released a statement shortly thereafter, asking for “calm and restraint from everyone”For “the sake of Iraq.”
The reported attack followed Friday’s chaotic protests in Baghdad. Demonstrators protested October’s parliamentary election results, in which pro-Iranian Shia parties suffered heavy losses, and many alleged voter fraud and called for a recount. Protesters clashed violently with police to try and storm the Green Zone, causing more than 100 injuries. Unrest in this area allegedly resulted in several deaths. Al-Kadhimi directed an investigation into violence.
