Dozens killed in container depot fire — Analysis

More than 30 people, including firefighters, were killed in a massive blaze and explosion at a container depot in Bangladesh’s Chittagong area.

Alauddin Talukdar from Chittagong Medical College Hospital said that the number of victims died in the blaze which broke out on Saturday night. He stated previously that there were more than 450 injured.

According to the Daily Star, five firefighters died when a container collided with them by Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense. 15 firefighters received treatment, while two more are still missing.

“So many firefighters have not died in any accident in recent history,”Shajahan Sikder, spokesperson

To assist firefighters, troops from Bangladesh were sent to the area.
We are still not sure what caused this fire. It is thought that some chemicals were kept in the containers.
