Czech president says he’s fit to serve for 2 more years after month-long ICU stay — RT World News

Czech President Milos Zeman, who spent nearly a month in intensive treatment with an unidentified diagnosis as senators considered declaring him ineligible for office, has pledged to continue serving until 2023.

Frekvence 1’s Zeman declared that Friday’s interview revealed that Zeman was healthy and well enough to complete his presidential mandate. It runs through 2023. This announcement was made just days after Zeman had left the intensive care unit to go to a rehabilitation ward.

Also, the president stated that it was no problem to name Petr Fiala (an opposition leader) as new prime minster. “I believe that there will be no problem there, you know why? Because Andrej Babis, whom I just spoke to a little while ago on the telephone, does not have interest in being prime minister, as nobody is willing to negotiate with him,”He stated.

Zeman previously stated that he would offer the chance for a government formation to the party with the most strength, the current Prime Minister Andrej Babis. The constitution allows the president to appoint any candidate of his choice.
