Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma Canary Islands continues to erupt


The eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano began on Sept. 19, prompting the evacuation of some 6,000 people on the island of 85,000. There have not been any deaths or injuries from the eruption. However, the destruction of homes has resulted in the loss of many banana crops and destroyed many houses.
