A brand new superyacht worth $24 million was completely destroyed by fire in Spain on Thursday, just weeks after its delivery to Paolo Scudieri, an Italian businessman.
Salvamento Maritimo, a Spanish rescue and seasearch agency, published a photograph of the 44-meter Aria SF that was in flames. It stated that the incident took place at Cala Saona, west coast Formentera on August 11.
Later on, emergency personnel informed media that the 16 aboard at the moment, which included seven crew members and six others, had managed to evacuate. The Civil Guard boat later located them unharmed. They have yet to be identified. Although the cause of fire was quickly extinguished, it remains to be determined. The yacht’s burned hull has been town to Ibiza.
SuperYacht Times reported that Scudieri received the Aria SF in July. The Italian-built Aria SF is reportedly valued at $500 million.
