Fully vaccinated and boosted Secretary of State Antony Blinken is working from home with “mild symptoms”

According to the State Department, US Secretary-of State Antony Blinken has tested positive for Covid-19. According to his spokesperson, Blinken will be working from home while he recovers from the symptoms.

“The Secretary is fully vaccinated and boosted against the virus and is experiencing only mild symptoms. He tested negative on Tuesday and again as recently as this morning,”Ned Price, spokesperson for the State Department said this in a statement issued Wednesday.

Blinken “encourages all Americans who are eligible to get fully vaccinated and boosted in order to protect themselves and their loved ones from developing severe Covid-19 disease,”Prices may increase

The diplomat’s most recent meeting was with Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, earlier on Wednesday in Washington, DC. He met Tuesday with Marcelo Ebrard his Mexican counterpart, delivered the keynote address at the Annual Conference on the Americas Luncheon and discussed the World Press Freedom Day in the State Department briefing area.

Blinken, Price said also. “has not seen President [Joe] Biden in person for several days, and the President is not considered a close contact according to guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”

Biden mocks himself and roasts Trump

Biden was joined by Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday at an event for US Olympians. Harris, who tested positive for the virus on April 26 and was only cleared to return to work on Tuesday, was wearing a face mask – as was her husband.

Several reporters who attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner over the weekend have since tested positive for the virus, including ABC’s Jonathan Karl, who shook hands with Biden at the event. Although 2,600 were permitted to gather in the Washington Hilton Hotel ballroom, the White House said that this was acceptable. Proof of vaccination and a negative same-day test are required. The White House also stated that boosters and masking were not allowed.

One of Biden’s first executive orders mandated masks on federal property and on all forms of transportation. Last month, a federal judge declared it illegal. Several other judges have also struck down Biden’s attempt to mandate Covid-19 vaccinations.
