Taiwan suffers widespread power outage — Analysis
Many cities in the island have been affected, including Taipei Capital.
Authorities blamed the sudden failure of Hsinta Power Plant for the massive outage that left Taiwan without power, resulting in thousands of residents being without electricity.
Taiwan Power Co. has confirmed that the blackout was due to “equipment failure” at the island’s second largest coal-fired power plant located in the port city of Kaohsiung.
