South Africa’s ex-president says he was unfairly imprisoned

Zuma still faces corruption charges in a separate case in which he is accused of receiving bribes from French arms firm Thales during South Africa’s controversial arms purchase in 1999. Zuma has pleaded no guilty to the charges. He is asking for Billy Downer, the leading prosecutor, to be removed from the investigation. Zuma is scheduled to appear next week at Pietermaritzburg High Court in that matter.
