Shooting erupts during July 4 fireworks — Analysis

Philadelphia authorities are investigating a “security incident” that left two police officers injured by gunfire and caused panic among thousands of people attending Independence Day celebrations on Monday night.

It happened around 10:15pm, near Philadelphia Museum of Art. This was as people were watching fireworks after a Wawa Welcome America concert. The footage circulated online and shows revelers running for cover. However, it’s not known if any were injured in all the chaos.

Local media were told by authorities that the highway patrol officer sustained a head injury and the bomb squad member was wounded in the shoulder. Both of them were in stable condition when they arrived at the hospital.

Police admitted that they had a “security incident”The public was urged to “avoid the area,”It was unclear if any of the suspects were present at the scene or what the exact circumstances were.
