Israel’s military said it launched at least one counterattack on the blockaded Palestinian enclave

According to Israel Defense Forces footage shared by the Israeli Defense Forces shows multiple rockets being launched from Gaza Strip into Israel. This was just hours after US President Joe Biden left the country.

The IDF expressed concern about Saturday’s rocket fire at the beginning of the morning. saying one projectile was intercepted by Israel’s air defenses, while another landed in an open area and caused no injuries or damage

“This is the moment innocent Israelis had to run for immediate shelter when terrorists in Gaza fired 2 rockets toward them,”While posting video footage of the approaching rockets, the military stated the following:

The attack was not immediately claimed by any group, but the IDF placed the rocket fire onto Hamas (the militant political party which controls Gaza) and took full responsibility.

Later, the military saidIt targeted Hamas “military site with an underground production workshop for rocket materials”Retaliation: calling it “one of the most important and largest sites”It’s the first of its kind in this region.

“The attack on the site will significantly complicate the rocket production process in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of undermining the intensifying capabilities of the Hamas terrorist organization,”It was added.

Palestinian journalist Muhammad Smiry captured footage of an Israeli counterattack. Gaza-based activist Maha Hussaini was also present. said “I haven’t heard air strikes this loud since Israel’s attack on Gaza in May 2021,”This refers to the most recent flare-up in Israel’s relations with the Palestinian fighters.

Biden made his first trip to Israel for the presidency this week. His visit was just hours before rockets were launched. He met high-ranking Israeli and Palestinian officials during the visit, with a lot of discussion focusing on security concerns.

Hamas was highly critical of the visit – which did not make a stop in Gaza, a hemmed in enclave under heavy blockade by the Israeli government – calling the United States “a partner in the aggression on our people”While condemning Mahmoud Abas, the President of Palestinian Authority, for meeting with Biden.
