Queen’s Guard filmed mowing over boy in their path — Analysis
A video posted online shows the moment a guard at the Tower of London – a landmark in the UK capital – crashes into a black child while marching, knocking him to the ground
The footage was uploaded to TikTok this week and shows two guards from the Tower of London marching along the Tower Green. While the small crowd makes way for the guards, one boy remains in the soldiers’ path.
Just before the boy crashes into it, one guard shouts “make way!”The guard fails to help the boy. The guard forces the boy to his knees and tries to push him over.
Quickly, the child gets up on his feet and seems to be okay.
It is called the caption “My sister went to england: first day in (crying face emoji)”This suggests that the boy’s family was in the UK on holiday.
The video provoked uproar among some who were unimpressed by the guard’s lack of compassion for the boy. Some said that he was simply doing his job. Many people who used social media to vent their frustrations even blamed the parents.
According to Historic Royal Places, visitors to Tower of London should be aware that it is not open for public viewing. “are advised to be respectful and stand clear when the guards are marching and performing their official duties.”
Many people see them as a tourist attraction. However, they serve as infantry soldiers and guards at the castle. The royal palace has been outside of use for many centuries. The castle has been used as a prison and zoo in recent years.
Ministry of Defense (MOD), stated that they had been made aware of the incident. The guard was asked to return to the boy.
“The Guardsmen on duty warned members of the public that a patrol was approaching but the child unfortunately ran out in front of the soldier unexpectedly. The soldier tried to step over the child and continued on his duty,”The MOD was added.
