Jill Biden Tests Positive for COVID-19 Weeks After Joe Biden

(KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C.)—First lady Jill Biden tested positive for COVID-19 and was experiencing “mild symptoms,” the White House announced Tuesday.

When she first began to feel unwell, she was on vacation with Joe Biden in South Carolina. The antiviral medication Paxlovid has been given to her and she will remain at the vacation house for at most five days.

According to the White House, Joe Biden was negative for the disease on Tuesday morning. He will wear a mask indoors for ten days as per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance. Biden recovered after a second case on August 7.
