While some flock members can be seen flying, others are still stationary on the ground.
It is believed that the incident occurred around 5 AM. Every winter, yellow-headed and blackbirds fly south from Canada to Mexico.
According to El Heraldo de Chihuahua, a vet examined the birds and suggested that they might have been exposed to toxic fumes from heaters. A vet suggested that the birds might have been electrocuted using power lines.
Some social media users have suggested the incident could have been a murmuration – the collective movement of bird flocks often involved sudden changes in direction – which went wrong.
Dr.Richard Broughton, an ecologist with the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, agreed, saying he was almost sure that a predatory bird drove the murmuration crashing towards the ground.
The same phenomenon occurred a week earlier when 200 birds disappeared from the sky in the vicinity of Hazelbeach, Wales and Waterston.
