Fire-ravaged Greek island of Evia hit by floods, mudslides

About 300,000 acres of forest, bushes and farmland were burnt in different parts of Greece this past summer amid the country’s worst heat wave in over 30 years. Data from Beyond at Athens’ National Observatory of Athens shows that more than one third of affected areas, or approximately 115,106, were in northern Evia.
