Easter Bunny moves Biden away from press (VIDEOS) — Analysis

A costumed staffer assists the president in directing him away from some encounters at White House events

Social media videos suggest that President Joe Biden has enlisted a new assistant to help him avoid certain conversations and encounters: The Easter Bunny.

On Monday, clips from a White House Easter event showed a costumed staffer intervening at most twice in order to steer the president away potentially risky situations. Biden talks to reporters about Pakistan and Afghanistan. A giant purple-clad bunny intervenes to stop him mid-sentence. The costumed staffer gets between Biden and the reporters, waving both hands in the president’s face, at which point the president turns and walks away from the group.

This second video captures the same rabbit intervening once again when Biden is attempting to communicate with a group parents and children. Biden’s crowd is interrupted by the bunny, who moves between them and waves at him.

These interventions took place at the Easter Egg Roll. This annual event attracts thousands of parents and children to the White House grounds. Monday’s festivities marked the first time that the event had been held since 2019, as it was canceled over the past two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Biden’s ‘cognitive decline’ is a ‘national security risk,’ says Republican senator

Biden (at 79 years old), is currently the oldest US president. He has been guilty of a variety of missteps in his time as President. Critics, such as former White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson, have called for him to take a cognitive test to prove that he’s mentally fit to serve as president.

Biden has repeatedly alluded to efforts by White House handlers to choreograph his actions, such as referring to a list he had been given of which reporters to call on at last month’s G7 meeting in Brussels. As First Lady Jill Biden began to read a book for a group children at Easter Egg Roll on Monday, the president stated, “They’re not going to let me read at all.” Other clips from Monday’s event showed the first lady telling Biden to wave to the crowd after his speech ended and to “just stay” in his seat after the book-reading ended.

Charlie Spiering, Breitbart reporter at Breitbart noted that Angela Perez posted a tweet Monday suggesting she could have been the White House press secretary in the bunny costume. Perez tweeted a photograph of the same person wearing the costume with the caption “Made in America.” “Hopping on a Zoom call.”
