Clerics plan new full-time cabinet-style posts in a serious shake-up, media reveals
The Church of England is weighing up plans to overtake the best way it operates. Its new strategy would see the creation of non-geographical episcopal roles as a part of “important modifications to the form, construction and variety of dioceses and bishops,” in line with a report in The Instances on Monday.
The complete-time, cabinet-style appointments would presumably embody ‘Covid’ and ‘Brexit’ bishops.
The concepts have been apparently introduced ahead as a part of a session commissioned by the archbishops of Canterbury and York, and the Bishop of London.
Leaders within the Church might be given full-time cabinet-style roles corresponding to “Brexit bishop” or “Covid bishop” permitting them to function spokesmen on girls or on political and societal issues.
