China concerned by Washington expelling UN diplomats — Analysis

Beijing has said on Wednesday it’s worried about the US decision to expel twelve Russian representatives to the United Nations. According to Beijing, the US as the UN Headquarters host should ensure normal operation and provide all the necessary conveniences for UN Permanent Missions.
“The Chinese side is concerned about the US side’s actions and hopes that the US side will make a detailed explanation on this,” Wang Wenbin, spokesman for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during an official press conference.
“[The US]You should not misuse the power of your host country to make unintended decisions.” he added.
Tuesday’s statement by the US stated that 12 Russian permanent mission representatives to New York-based United Nations had been expelled from Ukraine. The announcement came amid rising tensions with Russia due to the Russian offensive in Ukraine.

A Chinese spokesperson said earlier in the week that Beijing intends to continue trading relations with Moscow despite all international sanctions.
Russia launched a military invasion of Ukraine last Thursday, claiming it has had to use force to stop Ukrainian armed forces from attacking the breakaway regions of Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as to demilitarize and “denazify” the country.
Russia’s unprovoked aggression was condemned by the West and Kiev. Moscow was retaliated by Western countries with sanctions. This is expected to have serious consequences for Russia’s economy. In response, the UN passed a resolution condamning Russian actions in Ukraine. It also demanded that Moscow withdraw its troops.
