Biden reveals how Trump & fate may affect his 2024 plans — Analysis
US President Joe Biden said that, while he will run in the 2024 election, his health, and whether or not former President Donald Trump chooses to run, are key factors that will determine his fate.
Biden answered ABC News’ Thursday question about whether he planned to run for reelection. “Yes, but look, I’m a great respecter of fate. Many, many times fate intervened in the course of my life. If I’m in the health I’m in now, if I’m in good health, then in fact I would run again.”
When asked if he’d still be running if it meant that, he replied: “a rematch against Donald Trump” – who Biden defeated in 2020 – the president responded, “You’re trying to tempt me now.”
“Sure, why would I not run against Donald Trump if he were the nominee? That would increase the prospect of running.”

Biden (at 79), is the oldest president still in office and previously announced that he would run for re-election. Biden will turn 82 in the 2024 election.
“The answer is yes, my plan is to run for re-election… That is my expectation,”He spoke to reporters March.
A majority of Democrats feel that Biden would be a more likely candidate for the party in 2024, and vice president Kamala Harris, former first lady Michelle Obama, are the most popular candidates.
