US President Joe Biden stated that China must also be involved in talks on a new treaty to control nuclear weapons.
Washington has expressed its readiness to negotiate “New arms control framework” with Russia to potentially replace the landmark New START, or Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. In a speech on Monday, Joe Biden (US President) made these remarks ahead of the tenth Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference.
“Today’s Administration is prepared to quickly negotiate an arms control system to replace New START after it expires 2026. Negotiation requires an open partner who acts in good faith.” Biden said.
