Bamboo Toilet Paper: Does it Work?

Toilet paper isn’t something most people think about until they’re faced with the cheap stuff in a public restroom or the office. All of a sudden, the two-ply toilet paper you have at home seems like an unbelievable luxury when compared to the itchy, scratchy, thin paper you’re using out of desperation. What if we told you there’s something even better than the toilet paper you have at home, and it’s actually good for the environment? If it sounds too good to be true, you must not have heard of bamboo toilet paper. Not only does bamboo toilet paperwork, it’s sustainable, soft, and stronger than any toilet paper you’ve used before.

It’s Sustainable

Did you know that 27,000 trees are cut down every day just to make toilet paper? Toilet paper obviously can’t be recycled, so all those trees are being cut down to make something that can only be used once. We all know how long it takes trees to grow, so that’s a major bummer for the planet. Bamboo, however, is the fastest-growing plant on earth – it can grow three feet in just 24 hours! Bamboo toilet paper is an amazing sustainable solution because it’s biodegradable and bamboo can be harvested once a year and doesn’t need to be replanted. It just keeps growing! Not only that, but bamboo requires 30 percent less water to grow than hardwood trees, helping to conserve our water supply. It also gives out 35 percent more oxygen than trees, helping to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases; one acre of bamboo can single-handedly fix about 25 metric tons of atmospheric carbon dioxide per year.

It’s Soft

If you’ve ever had the unpleasant experience of using toilet paper of inferior quality (and who hasn’t?), you know the grainy, gritty, itchy feeling all too well. Using two-ply toilet paper made from wood fiber feels like a dream by comparison. Now imagine that there is another kind of toilet paper out there that makes your current favorite toilet paper feel as itchy and scratchy as the stuff you find at your local baseball stadium. There is, and it’s bamboo toilet paper! Bamboo toilet paper is much softer, thicker, and plusher than those other guys,  making it basically the Cadillac of toilet paper. Your bottom deserves the best!

It’s Strong

Soft and sustainable is important, of course, but when it comes to toilet paper, you definitely need something that is strong, too. There’s nothing worse than a mid-wipe rip, right? Bamboo has a unique composition that helps aid its quick growth, meaning it is naturally designed to be extra strong. Using stronger toilet paper means you don’t need to use as much in order to get so fresh and so clean. Actually, bamboo has a higher tensile strength than many alloys of steel, if you can believe it. Using bamboo toilet paper means you’re wiping your tush with something that feels like the softest pillow you can imagine that just so happens to be stronger than steel. Now that’s a winning combination!

We all want to do our part to help the environment and minimize our carbon footprint, but bamboo toilet paper makes it possible to do just that without sacrificing quality, softness, or strength. In fact, bamboo toilet paper is softer and stronger than traditional two-ply toilet paper. That’s a win for the Earth, a win for your bank account, and a win for your rear end. Bamboo toilet paper is also plastic-free, and the wrappers are recyclable, so the process is sustainable from beginning to end. Give bamboo toilet paper a try and your tush, the environment, and wallet will never stop thanking you!
