A.Q. Khan, father of Pakistan’s atomic bomb and dealer of nuclear secrets, dies at 85


Musharraf dismissed Khan in 2004 as the pressure mounted. Khan had publicly acknowledged to illicit proliferation activities. Musharraf’s government said that Khan was a rogue actor and that it had no knowledge of his nuclear network. Pakistan has not allowed international investigations. Khan claimed that he was made the scapegoat.
