1 Dead, 7 Injured in Oklahoma Festival Shooting
TAFT, Okla. — One person was killed and seven were injured in a shooting early Sunday at an outdoor festival in eastern Oklahoma, authorities said.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, two juveniles were among the victims of the Memorial Day shooting near Taft. This is about 10 mi (16 km) south of Tulsa.
The agency stated that witnesses claimed an argument prevented the shooting just after midnight. It said that no one had been taken into custody.
The event was attended by approximately 1,500 people. Members of the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office were also in attendance and immediately began rendering aid, OSBI said.
