According to the Department of Homeland Security, protestors driving in trucks of Canadian design are headed for Washington.
The US Capitol Police have ramped up security in Washington, DC in preparation for a series of truck convoys during President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, which are set to protest Covid-19 restrictions and vaccine mandates in the style of Ottawa’s ‘Freedom Convoy’.
The US Capitol Police stated Friday that all law enforcement agencies within the area were being dissolved. “aware of plans for a series of truck convoys arriving in Washington, DC around the time of the State of the Union.”

A memo was issued by the Department of Homeland Security this month, claiming that protesters were being harassed. “potentially planning to block roads in major metropolitan cities in the United States in protest of, among other things, vaccine mandates.”

Canadian truckers are protesting the Covid-19 mandates, restrictions and limitations in Ottawa since last month. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked emergency powers this week. Ottawa Police responded by using force against protesters and arrested dozens.
