Bring (or buy) Your Own Phone
Mint Mobile offers the options of either keeping your own phone that you have now, or buying a new one through their website (mintmobile.com). When you have your own phone, you can bring it to Mint Mobile service if it is compatible.
You can check the compatibility of your phone by texting *#06#* to get what is called an IMEI number. You can take that IMEI number and put it into the website here to see if your phone is compatible with Mint Mobile coverage.
If your phone isn’t compatible with Mint Mobile coverage then you can buy a new phone here. They even offer the newest phones out (such as the iPhone Max 11 Pro). You can buy outright or finance through a partner of Mint Mobile.
Activating the Starter Kit
Once you’ve checked the discount and promotions and decided on a phone to use then you are able to get a starter kit. You can buy the Mint Mobile $5 starter kit on their website, Amazon, Target, and more.
You will take the SIM card that comes in the kit and get the size that you need for your phone. The kit comes with a SIM card that can be changed into three sizes, so it is bound to fit almost all phones.
Now you’re ready to move forward with your new Mint Mobile coverage and service.
