Investigating the cause of the explosion of hundreds of tonnes of ammonium Nitrate that had been improperly stored in a port warehouse over many years is what this investigation is focusing on. At least 215 people were killed, thousands of others were injured and many homes in the area were destroyed. The explosion was non-nuclear and one of the most destructive in Lebanon’s recent history.
