Jet bursts into flames after crashing in California neighborhood (VIDEO) — Analysis

The wreckage of a small plane crashed into a neighborhood in El Cajon in San Diego County. It caught fire, knocking out power lines and setting off blazes. There are no reports yet of any injuries.
The incident, which took place at around 7pm local time on Monday, saw a small jet – reportedly a Learjet 35 – going down at the intersection of Pepper Drive and North Mollison Avenue.
Video footage shows multiple fire engines responding at once to the scene to try to quell the flames, which were close to residential homes.
A blackout was caused by the crash. The jet may have cut power lines when it crashed. SDGE, a San Diego-based utility provider of energy, confirmed that it had caused a blackout in the area and left 600 homes without power.

A pillar of smoke and flames could be seen at the site.
It’s not known how many passengers were present on the aircraft or if anyone was hurt.
