Massive explosions rock Palestinian refugee camp

On Saturday, the Islamist group released an official statement. On Friday, the Burj el-Shemali Camp, which is located near the Lebanese town of Tyre was rocked by an explosion.

Hamas strongly denied reports by media that the explosion affected its weapon stockpile. Instead, Hamas stated the fire started at the warehouse and the subsequent explosions. 

“An electrical short circuit in a storage depot containing a quantity of gas and oxygen canisters for coronavirus patients”The group claimed that the explosion was the result of an accident.

“The fire caused damage to property but the impact was limited.” 

Although Hamas didn’t provide any figures, media reports indicate that about 12 people sustained injuries from the explosion. Multiple deaths were initially reported, but this has been refuted by various media reports.
