Use Deceit
Attempt to Distance Themselves From Pedophilia Massachusetts News October 1--One of the first newspapers in the country to break the news about the normalizing of pedophilia by the American Psychological Association was Massachusetts News. The APA was thereafter chastised by Congress by a vote of 355-0, after which it changed its mind and apologized. We warned at the time that they were merely making a tactical diversion. The organization had gotten into trouble because of an article it published which indicated that pedophilia can have a positive influence on a child. It is now using deceit to "spin" its blunder. It’s now printed a story in the magazine which goes to its members which says the following about the disputed article: "The article’s findings point to the conclusion that there is hope for victims of child abuse," says Gary VandenBos, Ph.D., APA executive director for publications and communications. "Society will not always be effective at preventing it," he says. "Victims and their families need to know that when the unthinkable happens, the victim is not destroyed forever. Psychotherapy can help. Time will help." He Believes No One Read the Disputed Article Dr. VandenBos obviously believes that no one has read the disputed article. It said we must eliminate the use of "judgmental terms" such as "child abuse." It did not say there is "hope" for victims of "child abuse," as VandenBos claims. In fact, it said there is no such thing as "child abuse." It doesn’t even exist. It also said there is no such thing as "molestation" or "victims." It said we should use neutral, value-free terms like "adult-child sex." We should not talk about "the severity of the abuse," but instead refer to "the level of sexual intimacy." The authors of the article said that pedophilia is not a moral problem. "Classifying a behavior as abuse simply because it is generally viewed as immoral or defined as illegal is problematic." Who does VandenBos think he is kidding? When the APA practices deceit like this, you must wonder about their motives. We are happy that we first brought this matter to
the attention of the people of Massachusetts and that we played a small
part in causing the APA to reverse itself about this matter, but it is
disconcerting to see the mendacity that is being practiced by this group.
