When the terrorist attack shook America (this picture was taken from Brooklyn before the buildings collapsed), it also sent a message to those women of America who have been taken in by the extremes of the feminist rhetoric. The women in this country have more freedom than any women have ever had in the history of the world, according to The Feminine Mystique. We should be cautious about doing anything to destroy our military by making it just a social experiment, because if we do, we will all become vulnerable to the men from Afghanistan or China or one of the many rogue nations in the world. That would be every American’s nightmare – men and women alike.

Terrorist Attack Was a Warning
to Women

We Need an Outstanding Leader at DSS

October 2001

After Pearl Harbor and after the recent terrorist attack on the Pentagon and New York, we witnessed many strong women in action.

An outstanding one was Atty. Barbara Olson, wife of Solicitor General Ted Olson. She called her husband two times on a cell phone from the doomed plane although she knew she was headed for death. Her strength and courage are beyond belief.

But the vast majority of people that you saw doing all the dirty and dangerous work were men.

This has always been true. Whenever your electricity goes out during an ice storm, you don’t see women climbing the slippery and dangerous poles to restore the current. Whenever your car breaks down, you don’t look for a woman to help get it started. When you look at the people who are digging the new tunnels under Boston Harbor, they are men.

Our publisher was prescient in his book, Freedom Will Conquer Racism and Sexism, in 1998 when he wrote:

“There have always been and always will be intelligent, competent women. But the women of America in the late 20th century have allowed their good names to be used by a radical, hateful group of people.

“This will change. It is only a matter of time.

“But how the change will occur is not yet clear. Either it will be violent, with a total moral and spiritual collapse of our country, with the men from somewhere like China or Iran conquering the men of the United States and imposing total totalitarian control. This, of course, will mean a total loss of everything that women have gained over the centuries since the birth of Judaism and Christianity.

“Or we will return to a more reasoned discourse to solve the problem of how we can arrive at an intelligent answer to the tremendous possibilities that lie ahead.

“There is going to be ‘change’ in our society. It’s necessary because the world is becoming more technological. But it can’t be driven by ‘hate,’ or everyone will suffer.”

Hopefully, this warning that has just come to us from abroad will alert many more women to the dangers of the Archie Bunker mentality which taught an entire generation the falsehood that men and women are the same. Many of our citizens, men and women, still believe the falsehood that it is only the culture that makes us different.

We believe that at our peril.
