Jeannine Graf Was Fired
Because of Civil Rights Act

By J. Edward Pawlick
January 11, 2001

Although most don’t realize it, probably including Jeannine Graf herself, she was fired because of the Civil Rights Act.

As a practicing lawyer for 12 years who has studied the subject extensively and written a book on it and who was then a businessman for 30 years, there is no doubt about it from my experience.

Massachusetts has allowed the 3% of the population who are homosexual to have unprecedented control over the other 97% of the people.

As with all groups, there are a few homosexuals with integrity and honor, a vast majority who fall somewhere in the middle, and a few who will do anything at all if it helps them personally.

Like all businesses in Massachusetts, the Greater Boston Radio Group, which owns 96.9FM, will do anything to avoid a suit against it by any homosexual.

In order to understand why this is true, you must first realize a few facts. Just think what the Boston Globe would do with such a story. In addition, you must understand that such a suit would be decided by the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, which is totally biased against any employer. There is no question that the homosexual will win there. It will take at least a year plus many thousands of dollars in lawyer fees to litigate the case in that forum – and any business knows it will lose. In addition, the Globe will be reporting that this terrible business has been ordered to pay thousands of dollars in damages by the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Just think what the neighbors of its employees will think when they read that!

If the business is small and run by an individual, he might appeal the decision and have a court trial. But no business of any size can afford to spend the time and money to litigate these suits – much less take the punishment from the terrible publicity that will happen even if it has done nothing wrong.

Even the filing of the original complaint will be reported even though the business has had no chance to tell its story.

Therefore, you must expect that when they are given the power to sue, the majority of homosexuals will use this enormous ability to obtain whatever they wish.

Some Homosexuals at 96.9FM Were Unhappy
In the case of 96.9FM, you know that some of the homosexuals on the staff were not happy when Graf began to report the truth about what had happened at Fistgate. And you can be sure that these individuals started to mumble to others, particularly if any were in management.

You also must understand that the purpose of the Greater Boston Radio Group is to make money, not to help free speech in Massachusetts. Therefore, the manager of each station is instructed not to do anything that would result in a lawsuit from any employee. They must avoid that at all cost, even if they would win the suit.

Although a homosexual would not sue about the Graf issue directly, he would do it obliquely. Because they would be angry at the station, any homosexual who was not put on a greased track with promotion after promotion would say that he was not promoted merely because he is homosexual. In addition, the lawyers for the station would be telling the owners and managers the same thing because the courts of Massachusetts are so crowded and jammed as to be almost nonfunctional. Therefore, almost every case is settled immediately. The only sane thing to do is to pay the extortion and settle the case.

This applies not only to homosexuals but to women, blacks, the handicapped or others who can sue for discrimination. The employer will automatically pay, almost always.

How Will 96.9FM Make the Most Money?
You must also understand that it is not just the Greater Boston Radio Group that is under this pressure. It also applies to the Boston Globe. They report the news as they do because 50% of their newsroom staff must be women under the Civil Rights Act, and most of those women will be feminists because the average woman would rather be home with her children. Those feminists will be watching everything that happens in the newsroom like a bunch of hawks.

Therefore, 96.9FM is making a judgment call as to how it will make the most money. It has obviously angered some homosexual employees and is trying to appease them. However, it does not want to unnecessarily anger any of Graf’s  supporters in the process. So it is trying to ease her out quietly. That is why it has waited so long to act and has done so in stages. Only time will tell if it has been successful.

Welcome to the world of Massachusetts businesses and to the state and federal Civil Rights Acts in the year 2001.
