Dr. Paul Moreno Receives Fellowship for New Book February 2001 Paul Moreno, Editor Emeritus, has received a fellowship from the Olin Foundation to spend a year writing a history of the problem of racial discrimination in organized labor since Reconstruction. It will be an outgrowth of his previous book, From Direct Action to Affirmative Action, which explored racial discrimination in employment from the New Deal to affirmative action. His first book frequently touched upon the issue of racial discrimination in organized labor. Several readers suggested that this was significant enough to warrant a book-length treatment. Moreno is a professor of history at Hillsdale College
