Activist Infiltrates Mass. Citizens for Life
Back to
main story - 'Blockers' Surround Lone Woman
December 2001
| The activists are joining many
conservative groups in an attempt to subvert them. This email
was sent by a man who joined the Newton committee of
Massachusetts Citizens for Life and left six months later with
the names, addresses, home and work phone numbers and email
addresses of all Newton MCFL members. |
I am writing this e-mail to
make aware to every one of the “Decline to Sign’ campaign being
initiated by the Coalition for Equality. This is an effort to encourage
Massachusetts citizens to refuse to sign the defense of marriage
petitions.
We, as Pro-lifers, know the
fight for equality. We work hard everyday in trying to change people’s
views of the fetus being ‘lesser than’ or ‘not human’. We fight
for their ‘Right To Life’ and try to make people realize the value
of life and the rights of the preborn. We understand the need for
protection of those whose voices are small in number or silent and
can’t be heard. We gather as members of MCFL because we all believe
in this common vision. MCFL needs as many supporters as it can get
because our mission is a difficult one. MCFL’s sole mission is ‘to
promote a respect for human life and to defend the right to life
of all human beings, born and preborn’.
I am writing this e-mail in
response to witnessing at both a chapter meeting and the Walk For
Life, MCFL’s pushing of another mission – the Defense of Marriage.
In its fight for the rights of the unborn, MCFL is helping to promote
this cause, a discriminating one, called Massachusetts Citizens
For Families. MCFL is helping by asking for signatures on petitions
that would make an amendment to the state constitution: restricting
marriage to a male and female. This unnecessary piece of legislature
does nothing but create obstacles in another movements fight for
freedom and equality. It discriminates and hurts families and is
based on sexual orientation.
Families, today, come in a
variety of colors, sizes, and sexual orientations.
All families need protection,
the same protection, especially when there are children involved.
As MCFL tries to fight for the rights of the unborn, they are overlooking
a part of the population that is already here and still struggling
for their rights.
By helping to support another
cause, only stands to lose the more numbers it needs to let our
voices be heard. This alienates people we need to help speak up
for the unborn. It offends people. People shouldn’t be made to feel
uncomfortable at our gatherings yet this is what is happening.
