Four Citizens Given Awards

Four citizens were given awards for their
service at the MFI Banquet.
Barbara Bell has counseled women outside of
abortion clinics for many years, has been jailed more than 40
times, and has faced Planned Parenthood in court on numerous
occasions. She is also president of Massachusetts Blacks for
Life and founder of Intercessors for Life.
Joseph Cunningham leads the Thursday
Morning Prayer Breakfast at the Union Club of Boston. He has
also served on the board of MFI.
Justice Joseph R. Nolan retired in 1995 as
Associate Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of
Massachusetts. He was the lone voice defending the First
Amendment rights of the South Boston St. Patrick’s day parade
organizers against militant homosexual activists. The U.S.
Supreme Court upheld his opinion three years later in a 9-0
decision.
Harvard
freshman Mark Silvestri was honored for standing up for the rights
of his public school’s Christian club against fierce opposition from
the administration, while a student at Natick High School.
