Channel 2 Approves of Sex at Wellesley

March 8, 2001

Channel 2’s Emily Rooney gave a raucous approval to sex at Wellesley College on her show last Friday.

A panel of four men was led by Dan Kennedy who is a reporter for the Phoenix (the Boston equivalent of Hustler magazine). He was joined by two employees of the station and a professor at Boston University.

The group chortled that they haven’t been as lucky as some professors apparently are at Wellesley.

They opined that it was not a big deal for a professor to have sex with a student even though if Rooney had once gotten the topic on a serious note, they would have had to agree that this carries momentous problems with it. After all, if a businessman is accountable, just think of the power that a professor has over a 17-year-old teenager, not only as a sex figure, but he can also blackmail her because he can control her entire future if he desires to do so.

But Rooney was happy to protect her feminist friends at Wellesley and try to laugh this scandal into oblivion.
