Exciting Reforms in State
It's exciting to see so many citizens bringing reform to Massachusetts, particularly knowing that we have been a part in helping them.

The problems of Gov. Cellucci demonstrate that people with morals will not be denigrated by politicians again in Massachusetts. And the legislature is finally beginning to learn just how terrible DSS is. Many other good things are happening.

While some people view MassNews as printing sad things about the world, we see our role as exciting and positive because we believe in the changes that are occurring. We rejoice in that change.

More Church Plantings
The growing number of new churches in New England, often called "church plantings," signifies an increased effort by people to find more meaning in their lives, religious experts have told the Associated Press.

"There has been a large increase in the number of church plantings here in New England in the last couple of years," said one.

"There is a wonderful tradition of evangelism in New England, but somewhere along the line the region's traditional churches became doctrinally more liberal and less Bible-based. There is a need for re-churching of the New England area." Most of the new churches are reported to be evangelical.

Helping Those Who Can't Afford a Lawyer
The judges of the state are being ordered to attend hearings across the state to talk about the problems of people who can't afford a lawyer and consequently try to represent themselves in court. If Chief Justice Margaret Marshall would only get out of her chambers and into her courts and see what happened to the mother who was shackled in Lowell court in February, she would see the simple solution.

All she needs to do is to get the courts running efficiently again. They are in chaos and everyone knows it. Lawyers are being paid to sit for hours and then are told to come back again tomorrow and sit some more. Who can afford to pay a lawyer for sitting? And Marshall's judges allow the state and DSS to litigate ridiculous little things for the sole purpose of frustrating and bankrupting the citizens. DSS has all the time and money in the world, but the citizens don't. In addition, the poverty lawyers who are paid by the taxpayers to help poor people but are controlled by Marshall's court, always use this tactic to frustrate and bankrupt the poor people on the other side that they won't represent.

If Marshall would visit a court and wait on those hard benches or in the smelly corridors like everyone else, maybe even she would understand. She should take some of those rich lawyers from the Boston Bar Association who have never been in a court to go with her. They could take along a picnic lunch.

Globe Never Reported Murder of Jesse Dirkhising
The death of the 13-year-old, Jesse Dirkhising, who died a terrible death in Arkansas after being raped by homosexual lovers, aged 23 and 39, was never reported by the Boston Globe last month. Many compared their lack of coverage with their total infatuation with the gruesome murder of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming in 1998 after he went to a bar looking for sex and was robbed and killed by two psychopaths. Why was the gruesome murder of one adult in Wyoming so important while the gruesome murder of a boy in Arkansas got no attention at all?

The prosecutor told the jury, "The boy had been given a strong sedative, then restrained while his own underwear was stuffed into his mouth and held in place with duct tape. Brown then folded Jesse into position atop a bed while supporting the boy's body with pillows. While Jesse was bound and helpless and naked in this position ... he was repeatedly raped ... over a period of hours. Jesse slowly suffocated and died." The prosecution said Brown raped and sodomized Jesse with various objects, including food, while Carpenter stood in the bedroom doorway watching and masturbating.

There were more sickening details which we will not mention. It is clear that homosexual pedophilia is getting a total pass from the media in Massachusetts.

Boston Bar Continues With Feminist Tradition
The Boston Bar Association has announced that the speaker at its annual Law Day Dinner in May will be one of the most strident feminists in the country, Susan Estrich, former campaign manager for Dukakis when he ran for President. Someone should go to the dinner and see how many times Chief Feminist Margaret Marshall applauds during the speech.

Boy Scouts Win Significant Victory
The Boy Scouts won a significant victory last month against the Broward County Schools in Florida.

"This was an important case for Massachusetts," said civil rights attorney Chester Darling. "Some schools in our state have hinted that they might try to restrict the Scouts. They say that Scout policies conflict with the anti-discrimination policies in this state. But this case makes it clear that when we warn the schools they cannot do that or we will have to sue, we are giving good advice."

A U.S. District Court in Florida issued a Preliminary Injunction against the school system which had tried to stop the Scouts from meeting in their buildings even though it allowed many other groups to use them. The importance of watching the then-pending Florida case was mentioned in "Protecting Boy Scouts from Bigotry in Massachusetts Public Schools" in our March issue.
