Pedophilia Still Recommended to Children by Libraries

July 2--The Minuteman Library Network continues to recommend Internet sites to children which promote pedophilia.

The Network is composed of the libraries in 33 towns in the Metro Boston area.

The recommendations can be found on the Network's site The network includes most town libraries in the metrowest area of Massachusetts, ranging from Cambridge to Holliston.

"This is not a question of allowing the pedophilia sites to remain on the computers in the library, because a filter is not used to screen them out," commented J. Edward Pawlick.

"This is a case where the library is recommending to children that they
visit these sites either at the library or at home. The librarians admit that they don't have time to monitor all of the sites that they recommend but even when they are aware that they are recommending pedophilia, they don't appear to care.

"Why would any library wish to undertake the huge task of recommending
web sites? Is that how we wish to spend our tax money? Are we citizens
not able to find our own web sites?"
