Magistrate Takes Under Advisement Request that Officers Be Released Pending Trial
U.S. Magistrate Joyce London Alexander has taken under advisement the request from the three Boston police officers in the Pulido corruption scandal that they be freed while awaiting trial.
The Globe appears to be hoping they can just ignore the scandal involving its political ally, Mayor Menino, and it will die.
There was bail hearing on Friday, and the Globe had to report the results.
There was much testimony by the defense that the officers in question had been doing their own “undercover” investigation and were merely waiting for a time to effect an arrest.
Many observers don’t believe that the scandal will die and are waiting for “the second shoe to drop.” They point out that the Affidavit from the FBI says that the federal agents have “extensive information” about “illegal conduct of other Boston police officers” and “other public officials.
