Letters to the Editor:
Abusing the State Constitution
Massachusetts Democratic lawmakers are now abusing the rules of Commonwealth to provide "selective" legislating. This is evident by lawmaker actions ignoring the voter mandated income tax rollback and obstructing an overwhelming and record 70,000+ initiative signatures, to bring a vote on marriage to the ballot.
Legislators have also abused conference rulings to stall a legislative vote on
Representative Emile Goguen's Bill of Address to remove (not impeach) the four despotic justices who tyrannically mandated same-sex marriage on the entire Commonwealth.
Yet a vote is required by the Constitution written by John Adams in 1780, and to be taken immediately after the resolution is filed. These selective and undemocratic rulings in Massachusetts are also highlighted by the fact that 19 other states have already adopted a constitutional ban on gay marriage and 6 more may have it on their ballots this November.
Are Massachusetts State lawmakers using this "selective" tactic in the same vein where secular liberals use "selective" definitions of "discrimination, diversity, tolerance, bigotry, hate normal, natural, morals, values, and virtue" selectively exclude Judeo-Christians. This deception has been successful under the guise of "safety," where politicians, school administrators, and worse, judges have all been duped. That said, I have been told by one Democrat seeking to replace Representative Goguen that he has "no problems with same-sex marriage" as well as stating there are "more important issues to deal with." I can only deduce from his convenient spin, that moral virtue as outlined in America's founding document is now obsolete, that the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" are no longer the standard by which "unalienable Rights" and to be "entitled."
It leaves one to wonder by which standard one prioritizes the issues, by virtue or money. The history of the Democratic Party has left me to conclude that they have now become the party of socialistic "programs" which breed fiscally irresponsible and are aimed at creating a cradle-to-grave-nanny-state where dependence on Government is replacing personal and moral responsibility and commitment.
So when you hear a politician mention an issue like more funding to improve our government-run schools where the darkness of GLSEN has replaced the Light of Christ, please remind them of the plan Dr. Benjamin Rush proposed for public education in 1787. This signer of the Declaration of Independence and the man considered "the father of modern medicine," proposed: "Let the children who are sent to those schools be taught to read and write - - (and) above all, let both sexes be carefully instructed in the principles and obligations of the Christian
religion. This is the most essential part of education."
In 1791, Dr. Rush wrote a pamphlet titled, "A Defense of the Use of the Bible as a Schoolbook." AND a 1783 letter: "[T]he only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all republican
governments." And "Without religion, I believe that learning does real mischief
to the morals and principles of mankind." AND warned if America ever removed the
Bible from the classroom, all of our time will be spent fighting crime."
Today's Democrats (and some RINOs) tell us there are more important issues. Will the Judeo-Christians voters in Massachusetts continue to shun their call to be the salt and light and instead fall prey to a tyrannical government over their
God-given liberty and virtue? We'll see in November.
