Freedom Will Conquer Racism |
John Kerry didn’t pull any punches over the weekend when he told ABC News his opinion of his fellow Democrat Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut. "I'm concerned that [Lieberman] is making a Republican case," Kerry told "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" in an exclusive appearance. Kerry and Lieberman have been allies on many issues, but the collegiality is over since Ned Lamont has beat Lieberman in the primary and Lieberman is planning on running as an independent. Kerry accused the 2000 Democratic vice presidential candidate of "adopting the rhetoric of Dick Cheney," on the issue of Iraq. However Kerry was a vocal supporter of the 2003 Senate resolution that ultimately led to the invasion of Iraq. On the eve of the attack, he said: “The brave and capable men and women of our armed forces and those who are with us will quickly, I know, remove him [Saddam Hussein] once and for all as a threat to his neighbors, to the world, and to his own people, and I support their doing so." Such a statement might be considered very “Cheney-esque” by Kerry supporters today. |
