Freedom Will Conquer Racism |
Fox News tried to switch Boston Globe reporters yesterday by dropping Nina Easton from Fox News Sunday and replacing her with Globe reporter Anne Kornblut. It was nice not to have anyone from NPR on the program for a change, but Easton and Kornblut could very well be working at NPR and be very happy there. Easton is well known for comparing Dick Cheney’s hunting accident to Sen. Kennedy’s disaster at Chappaquiddick where he left a young lady friend to die in his car. Kornblut is well known for her editorializing on the front page of the Globe as if it were "news". Just one example: In a news story from the 2000 Presidential campaign, she began with the following: "Governor George W. Bush, who has long pledged to rise above personal attacks in his presidential campaign, used some of his harshest language yet to ridicule his opponent's administration yesterday..." The "harsh language" was that Clinton was "desperate" for personally getting involved in the race. In the second sentence of the story, Kornblut wrote: "Appearing amused by reports that Clinton had called him a rich kid whose 'daddy was president,' Bush said: 'You know something? I welcome President Clinton's criticism. It's amazing to me that the president of the United States would spend time trying to be a political pundit,' Bush said. 'He's so desperate to have his legacy intact by getting Al Gore elected, he'll say anything, just like Al Gore will.'" Also Kornblut wrote a story about President Bush after Dick Cheney’s hunting accident. She cited a “front-page New York Times” story about rumors that Dick Cheney might resign because of “scandals” surrounding his office. But she didn’t reveal that both the Times and the Boston Globe are owned by Pinch Sulzberger who will do anything to discredit President Bush. She was in effect quoting her own publication. We questioned then who was this mysterious Ann Kornblut who psychoanalyzes everyone and then spoon-feeds us editorials. |
